I’ve just finished studying FTVRS (Film, Television and Radio Studies) at Staffordshire University and for the next 10 months, starting in September I will be working as a Relay Worker with UCCF. Relay is a training and discipleship scheme for graduates run by UCCF. Its focus is on growing in grace, and seeing how that radically changes the way we live. I will also be supporting students at Nottingham Trent University, providing one to ones with individuals or meeting their needs as a group.
I can’t define when and where I became a Christian, I was baptised when I was 12, but didn’t pay much attention to God after that. It wasn’t until I was 16, while I was at Grapevine, that I decided to get my act together.
For a while I’d been suffering with M.E (Myalgic Encephalopathy) and was about to start college after being unable to go to school for several years. I was terrified I wouldn’t have the stamina or good health to go to college, so while in the Glory tent, I prayed to God to heal and help me through, and this time I meant it.
He hasn’t ‘healed’ in the sense of fully taking the M.E away, but has supported me through his strength, and everyday I get a little better. My outlook on life has definately improved from the ‘doom and gloom’ type thinking I had when I was depressed. And it’s all thanks to him
